Prayer Shawl Ministry

Every shawl begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout its creation with a final blessing offered before the shawl is sent on its way.

“Shawls…made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles...”

Would you be interested in joining this valuable ministry?

Using your care and love of knitting and crocheting, and combining them with a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace? Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual before being sent on its way. The shawls may be a comfort when undergoing medical procedures; after a loss, or during a bereavement or other difficult times…to celebrate a birth/adoption, baptism, graduation or to express heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 10 am to noon.
