This week we look at a letter from Paul to the church in Corinth. A letter that holds love up as “a still more excellent way.” Paul takes time in his letter to explain what should be really important to them. He explains that it is not who has the most spiritual gifts or who drives the nicest car to church because all the spiritual gifts in the world will mean nothing if those receiving them do not love one another.
There is no greater feeling in the world than to be loved. Our children experience love from their parents and learn as they grow what it means to love another. A couple who fall in love, no expression can truly describe the joy they have found. Perhaps that is why this passage is so often read at weddings. Love can sometimes be hard to find in our world but this passage illustrates to us the power of love to transform.
